Job Description
Darling Ingredients is seeking a Production Manager to join our team in Bernalillo, New Mexico. This is a key role that influences the organization by providing direction for the overall operation of the plant production area.
This position will generally be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The schedule for this position is subject to change based on business needs.

Job Summary:
This position influences the organization by providing direction for the overall operation of the manufacturing area of the plant. The Chief position is trained in all aspects of production and will provide work assignments to other production personnel when unsupervised.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides support in supervising and distributing work, but is not a hiring manager with direct reporting responsibilities.
Main tasks/responsibility:
Ability to start, operate and shut down all plant production equipment.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping practices that are necessary for the safe operation of the business.
Monitors all systems during periodic visits to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
Must be able to complete all work in the workplace and make up for absences including breaks and meal times.
Reports daily production figures to Plant Manager
Other expected duties as assigned
Minimum qualification:
Ability to work with all production equipment.
Knows all the tasks required for each production-related job.
Basic math skills to perform addition and subtraction.
Good communication skills, ability to take and give direction, work well with others.
Able to work at height, climb ladders, ladders, as well as work in all areas of the plant.
Ability to work in stressful situations related to deadlines and other situations that may arise.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with or without staff.
Ability to analyze situations and follow an effective action plan to resolve issues while maintaining safety and quality.
Capable of operating all mobile equipment such as forklift, tractor, loader and other site specific equipment.
Physical requirements:
Stand, walk and maneuver around the production site throughout your shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working environment:
Must be able to work in hot and humid environments typical of a rendering plant.
Work at all levels of the facility with significant walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders.
The noise level is moderate to loud.
