Analysis of Concepts related to women's Marital Status and Reproductive health Part-3

Family Planning

An important question regarding a woman's reproductive health is whether a woman or a couple can make a plan for childbirth based on their needs, desires, health and education of their children. Be consistent, what guidance does Islam provide in this regard?

If the problem is looked at in the light of global perspective, historical continuity and geographical facts then we see that in some cases due to specific background population density is required and this happens in countries or regions where resources are more than population ratio. And population growth is not at the rate that manpower can be used for national development or in societies where the source of power is considered to be individual superiority especially in tribal societies where manpower abundance is required. It is necessary to control the population in some different situations. National resources cannot bear the burden of the population, the provision of basic necessities of life, upbringing and training of children, education, medical treatment, employment and provision of housing becomes almost impossible and a large section of the population is living below the poverty line.

Keeping in view these two necessities of human life, Islam has left open both options for population growth and reduction in childbirth. However, the continuous birth of children could cause various problems for women's health, so some arrangements have been made by nature itself to organize and bring it under a plan and some have been left to the discretion of other human beings. Are

Natural Planning

Nature has made it clear that women do not have the ability to be productive for the rest of their lives, but a woman has this ability for a period of about 15 to 45-50 years, that is, thirty-five years. In this case too, the first fifteen to twenty years of fertility, that is, the birth of children, is considered to be medically safe, and as the age of the woman increases, the risk to the life of the mother and the child increases with the birth of the child. In contrast, a man is able to have children for a long time.

Monthly Breaks

Women have to go through a period of eight to ten days each month during the menstrual period, during which intercourse and sexual intercourse are prohibited according to the clear command of the Qur'an:

وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحَيِضِ قُلْ هُوَ ًَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحَيِضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ.

"People ask you about menstruation. Tell them that it is a pollution. Refrain from mixing with your wives during menstruation and do not associate with them until they are cleansed."

Birth Interval

When a woman has a child, she is in a state of nifaas, which lasts for a period of approximately forty days.

Hidden Natural Break

Nature has arranged for pregnancy to be such that it does not happen that the couple gets pregnant whenever they go through sexual intercourse, but women who are of childbearing age are given only a few hours each month. It happens that the egg travels from their uterus and stops at the mouth of the uterus. After conducting medical research on a large number of women, experts have come to the conclusion that they come in different days after menstruation in different women, so no formula can be formulated for them that will come on such and such dates. And this is a secret plan by nature.

Break through Breastfeeding

The Qur'an al-Hakim tells mothers to breastfeed their children for two years:

وَالْوَالِدَاتُ يُرْضِعْنَ َْوْلَادَهُنَّ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ لِمَنْ أرَادَ َْنْ يُتِمَّ الرَّضَاعَةَ. ([38])

"Mothers should breastfeed their babies for a full two years, if they want to complete the breastfeeding period."

And it is known that during the period when mothers breastfeed their children, they usually do not have menstruation and when there is no menstruation, they do not become pregnant, so a mother who breastfeeds her child regularly, naturally has three children. There will be a break of the year.

Age of Marriage

One of the manifestations of nature's planning is the determination of the age for marriage. Although the Qur'an and Sunnah do not explicitly state that it is not permissible to marry a minor, but if we look at the purposes of marriage, we see that the purpose of concluding a marriage contract between a man and a woman is as follows: Told that:

وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاءً. ([39])

"Beyond these two, many men and women were born."

That is, Allah's purpose is that the human race should have survival and continuity.

Servants who marry usually have two purposes:

1. Acquisition of children

2. Achieving sexual pleasure

None of these three goals are related to underage marriage. The marriage of a minor does not save the human race, nor does it produce children, nor does it provide sexual pleasure.

Although Islam does not strictly prohibit underage marriage because sometimes it is required for unavoidable reasons, but in terms of purpose, marriage of a minor does not achieve the purpose of marriage. One verse of the Qur'an al-Hakim shows that there is an age for marriage and that verse is:

حَتَّى ذِذَا بَلَغُوا النِّكَاحَ. ([40])

"Until they reach the age of marriage."

And of course the age of marriage is the age of puberty.

Use of Intellect

In almost all living things around the world, the process of reproduction is by mating of males and females, but in animals we observe that their males and females are not ready for sexual intercourse at all times and in all seasons. Or the female does not even feel like it. The female usually develops a condition at certain intervals in a particular season in which she needs to mate with the male and at that time the male of her sex also becomes aware of it and they both mate. After fulfilling the need, they return to their normal life, whereas for man, there is no such thing as observance of seasons, determination of intervals and descent of conditions, but he is subject to his free will in the sexual process.

The question is, why is there such a difference between humans and other animals? While the process of sexual intercourse for the birth of a child is the same for everyone. So the clear answer to this is that Allah has not endowed animals with intellect, so He has given them the guidance of nature and they act according to it, while man has been endowed with intellect and awareness in the light of which he has decided. Can she know when to go through this process and when to take precautions, does she need more children and she will have more children through frequent sexual acts or does she want fewer children so that she can take precautions accordingly The intellect is a light in the light of which man can easily plan for his future and this light Allah has given only to man.
