Job Description

Summary/Objective

This post is responsible for all work related to the production of goat cheese. The purpose of a production operator is to use equipment to assist with production, packaging, and other stages in a production environment.

Level 3 - Pasteurizer

To be able to move to the next level, your supervisor will also take into account attendance, overall performance and any workouts in the past 6 months.

This position follows standard operating practices and practices safe work habits to ensure maximum efficiency and safety in production.

Main Work

Goat Produce Pasteurizer and Sanitizer

• Process goat milk through heat treatment, add sourdough/rennet and follow pH trend;
• processing of goat's milk depending on the fat content;
• Create, analyze and track humidity and pH trends;
• Ability to properly sample cheese for pH and moisture testing in burn press;
• Cleaning and disinfecting all equipment in the goat farming area;
• CIP cleaning of all equipment in goat rearing area.

Supervisory Responsibility

This post has no supervisory function.

Level 3 - Supervisory responsibilities when the team leader is not working.

Work Environment

When performing official duties, the employee works in a production environment with the following conditions:

Frequent exposure to hot or cold weather;

Constant exposure to chemicals;

Constant exposure to noise and vibration;

Frequent exposure to damp and humid conditions.

Physical Requirements:

The physical needs described here are representative of those that a worker must meet in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

When performing job duties, the physical requirements are:

Stand - constantly;

Bending / bowing - often;

Squat - sometimes;

Crawl - never;

Climbing stairs or stairs - often;

Reach - at chest level, up or down - constantly;

Clean and Jerk - 1000 lbs. Sometimes with the help of Jack;

Deadlift - 1000 lbs. Sometimes with the help of Jack;

Lift/Carry - Up to 70 lbs. Often.

Type of Post / Expected Hours of Work

This is a staff position. Days and hours vary by shift and department. Sometimes overtime and weekend work is required. Vacation Coverage as Needed.

Required Education and Experience:

• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English;

Education and experience preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Experience in food production;
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
