Wedding is Blessing
In the Hadiths, the ruler of both worlds Prophet PBUH has given guidance to this ummah that marriages should be light and cheap, and it has been announced that if they do so, there will be great blessings from Allah Almighty in marriages and their consequences. Suffering from anxiety and especially the confusion in family life, the main reason is that by deviating from these instructions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) regarding marriage and we have been deprived of heavenly blessings and divine gifts. Dowry in Islam
It is to be noted that if a parent voluntarily gives something to his daughter on the occasion of leave, it is not forbidden according to Shari'ah, but it is not encouraged anywhere in Shari'ah, nor any tradition. I find it mentioned or encouraged. As far as Hazrat Fatimah is concerned, it is said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave these things to his daughter Fatimah Al-Zahra as a dowry: Azhar was full of grass. (Sunan An-Nisa'i) Most of the scholars consider this hadith to mean that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave these things as dowry on the occasion of marriage of his daughter, but the fact of the matter is that marriage in Arabia at that time But it was not customary or even imaginary to give something to the girl as a dowry. And the word dowry was not used.
Dowry in our Culture
Apart from Syeda Fatima, no dowry was mentioned in the marriage of other daughters. However, the meaning of the word “Jahz” in the hadith is not to give the term dowry, but to arrange and arrange the need. As a matter of fact, it was done by them and their money, because these essentials were not in their house. (Ma'arif-ul-Hadeeth, Vol. 7) There are many misconceptions about dowry in our society. Dowry is considered as a prerequisite for marriage.
In our society, many girls are left unmarried just because their fathers cannot afford to pay dowry, and when it comes down to it, illegitimate means are used. The list of dowry items is increasing day by day, now dowry is not just a father's gift for a daughter, but a social oppression. And now the ritual of displaying the dowry has also made it necessary that the dowry should be like this and it should include so many things that can make every viewer happy, and get praise. Regarding dowry, some people suggest that dowry should be strictly prohibited by law, but considering that it is not an individual issue, but a collective and societal issue, and such issues cannot be solved by law alone. For this, it is necessary to create a conducive mental atmosphere through education and training and the media, and influential people of the society, intellectuals, influential classes and those in power need to present this model to the people.
